Gigabyte officially unveils the RX 480 G1 Gaming

Coming with 4GB and 8GB of GDDR5 memory

Gigabyte has now officially launched its two G1 Gaming series custom RX 480 graphics cards that will be available with 4GB or 8GB of GDDR5 memory.

Based on AMD's latest Polaris GPU, both versions of the RX 480 G1 Gaming from Gigabyte are pretty much identical and the only difference is the amount of VRAM. Both cards will be equipped with cherry-picked GPU, Windforce 2X dual-fan cooler with RGB illumination and a custom PCB.

The list of features for the RX 480 G1 Gaming series starts with a custom PCB that has 6+2-phase VRM drawing power from a single 8-pin PCIe power connector, so it should not have any issues with the power draw.

The RX 480 G1 Gaming series uses Gigabyte's well known Windforce 2X cooler with a rather hefty heatsink, three composite copper heatpipes and two 90mm fans. The fans do not spin up at idle and low usage of the GPU and it also features the Fan Stop indicator. The RX 480 G1 Gaming series also comes with a full-cover backplate.

Unfortunately, Gigabyte still did not reveal any details regarding the actual clocks on the RX 480 G1 Gaming series as apparently these are not yet finalized but we are quite sure we will see a decent factory-overclock.

The new Gigabyte RX 480 G1 Gaming series should be available soon as plenty of custom Radeon RX 480 graphics cards are expected on the market shortly in order to provide some competition for the recently launched Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 graphics card.
