As we draw closer to the official launch date of the Geforce GTX 1060, it does not come as a surprise that we will see even more details and today, there are quite a few including its alleged overclocking potential, as well as the full diagram of the GP106 GPU.
As leaked by Videocardz.com, we now have more details regarding the GP106 Pascal GPU, which confirms that it comes with 1280 CUDA cores, but more importantly, it gives us a clear picture regarding the number of Texture Mapping Units (TMUs) and Raster Operation Units (ROPs). The GP106 will pack 80 TMUs and 48 ROPs, which is a significant upgrade from previous mid-range Geforce graphics cards which usually ended up with 32 ROPs.
As detailed earlier, the GTX 1060 will mostly come with 6GB of GDDR5 memory, clocked at 2000MHz and paired up with a 192-bit memory controller, have a 120W TDP and work at 1506MHz base and 1709MHz GPU Boost clocks.
Another neat information is the fact that the GTX 1060 appears to be a decent overclocker and a leaked EVGA Precision X screenshot shows it running at 2012MHz GPU clock. This is a great result, especially considering that the GPU hits 74 C temp while fan(s) is spinning at 2000RPM.
We will surely see even more information but the official reviews and the actual availability are still scheduled for July 19th.
