Nvidia's newest Geforce GTX 1080 has been facing supply issues due to either low supply or high demand and it appears that the situation won't be better until late July or even August.
According to a report from Tweaktown.com, the GTX 1080 has been facing supply issues with GTX 1080 Founder Editions selling for as high as US $699 and even reaching as high as US $1999 on Amazon for the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW ACX 3.0 version, a nd it appears that the same situation might happen with the upcoming Geforce GTX 1070 graphics cards.
Apparently, there won't be a huge flood of custom or reference GTX 1080 graphics cards from Nvidia AIB partners until late July or even August.
This gives AMD a good chance with its upcoming Radeon RX 480 graphics card despite the fact that these do not cover the same market segment, as consumers will buy whatever is available on retail/e-tail shelves.
Nvidia has just cut prices across its previous generation Geforce 900 series, which should somewhat rectify this issue but still it does not look good if you are looking to buy Geforce GTX 1080 or GTX 1070 graphics card anytime soon.
