While we have already seen some early benchmarks as well as most of specifications for the upcoming Radeon RX 480 graphics card, the newest leaks suggest that it might even match Radeon R9 Nano in terms of performance, at least in some cases.
According to a report from Wccftech.com, the Radeon RX 480, based on AMD's new Polaris 10 GPU, codename Ellesmere, could match the Radeon R9 Nano when it comes to performance in certain benchmarks, like the 3DMark FireStrike Ultra.
According to the same report, the RX 480 should be clocked at 1080MHz base and 1266MHz GPU Boost clocks and it should maintain its Boost clock in gaming. Although it comes with a single 6-pin PCIe power connector, which puts its TDP at around 150W, the RX 480 is said to use around 100W in gaming and heats up to around 60 degrees Celsius in an open-air bench test.
This also gives AMD AIB partners a lot of room to come up with high factory-overclock graphics cards which should cope well with temperatures due to custom cooling solutions.
In any case, we will know for sure soon as the RX 480 is scheduled to launch on June 29th.
