AMD has unveiled two new Polaris-based Radeon graphics cards at the PC Gaming Show at E3 2016, the Radeon RX 470 and the Radeon RX 460.

Unfortunately, AMD did not reveal a lot of details regarding these two new graphics cards but at least we can get a general idea on what to expect.

As the Polaris 10-based Radeon RX 480 should bring affordable VR gaming, the new Radeon RX 470 and the Radeon RX 460 are aiming for mainstream and entry-level market segment, most specifically, 1080p and MOBA gaming.

The new RX 470 and the RX 460 should replace the Radeon R7 370 and the R7 360, which were launched at US $149 and US $109, respectively. This does not mean that the new graphics cards could launch at the same price point but considering that RX 480 will go for US $199, these could only go lower.

According to early details and cards pictured during the show, the Radeon RX 470 is most likely based on a version of the Polaris 10 GPU, the Polaris 10 Pro, which comes with lower number of Stream Processors compared to the RX 480.

The Radeon RX 460, on the other hand, should be based on a smaller Polaris 11 GPU, but we still do not have any precise information.

The pictured RX 470 still features a single 6-pin PCIe power connector, so the TDP is anywhere below 150W, while the Radeon RX 460 does not require any additional power and has a TDP of under 75W.

AMD did not even finalize the cooler design for the RX 470 while the RX 460 will end up with a small fan, so we will probably see both passive as well as low profile versions from AMD AIB partners.

We certainly hope that AMD will unveil more details regarding the RX 470 and RX 460 soon and if it uses the same aggressive pricing as on the RX 480, AMD could easily rule the mainstream and entry-level markets, with some impressive 1080p and MOBA gaming graphics cards.
