Gigabyte had a a lot to show at the Computex 2016 show in Taiwan including plenty of motherboards based on Intel's Z170 Express chipset as well as some new motherboards based on the X99 Express chipset, including the flagship X99 Ultra Gaming and X99 Designare EX motherboards.
Both of these motherboards packs all the usual X99 chipset features but add a 110mm M.2 slot, two 32Gbps U.2 ports and SATA Express ports. It also comes with USB 3.1 Type-A and Type-C ports, dual Gigabit Ethernet, integrated 802.11ac WiFi as well as headers for liquid cooling and RGB LED light strips. The Gigabyte X99 Ultra Gaming lacks integrated 802.11ac WiFi but is also lighter up with RGB LEDs, has reinforced slots and is pretty much a gaming oriented version.
Gigabyte had a similar Z170 lineup with the Z170X Designare and Z170X Ultra gaming motherboards as well as a couple of other more affordable motherboards.
