ASUS unveils its new ultra-thin ZenBook 3 notebook

Thinner and twice as fast as MacBook

During its Computex 2016 presentation, ASUS has unveiled its newest ultra-light notebook that aims directly at Apple's Macbook, promising much more performance in a impressively thin chassis, the ASUS ZenBook 3.

According to ASUS, the ZenBook 3 should outperform Apple's Macbook by quite a margin, all thanks to the Core i7 CPU, 16GB of RAM and 1TB SSD.

To make things even worse, at least for Apple, the ZenBook 3 is actually both lighter and thinner at 11.9mm, compared to both the MacBook Air and MacBook, measuring at 17mm and 13.1mm, respectively.

Coming with a 12.5-inch screen coated in Gorilla Glass 4, the ZenBook 3 will also offer screen-to-body ratio of 82 percent, higher than on any other ASUS notebook. The rest of the features include full-size keyboard, glass touchpad, fingerprint reader, Thunderbolt 3/USB Type-C port and a battery that should keep it alive for around 9 hours.

To be available in Royal Blue, Quartz Grey and Rose Gold color options, the ASUS ZenBook 3 will be available in Q3 2016 with a price set at US $1,999 for the 1TB SSD version and US $1,499 for the 512GB SSD version.
