FSP unveils redundant PSU for ATX desktop systems

With two hot-swappable 500W server-grade PSUs

Fortron Source Power Group (FSP Group), has unveiled a rather unique dual 500W redundant power supply unit meant for home-servers and small-workstation that are based on standard desktop form-factor.

A part of th new FSP Twins PSU Series, the new power supply unit is actually an ATX-size PSU enclosure with two hot-swappable 500W server-grade PSUs, with internal circuitry that provides redundancy. Each 500W PSU is cooled by a single 40mm fan so we doubt that these will be quiet.

The PSU also works with the OS in order to control redundancy as well as offer monitoring of the power supply status.

This PSU is ideal for home-servers and workstations that are based on a standard ATX-size desktop form-factor but are limited to a maximum 500W power draw.

FSP will showcase its new Twins PSU series at Computex 2016 and hopefully we will see some other models with higher power output in the future.
