Gigabyte has released a rather neat teaser suggesting that a custom Xtreme Gaming series GTX 1080 should come sometime in June.
While there are no precise details, Gigabyte has showed a silhouette of the upcoming GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming graphics card suggesting that the company has already picked the cooler for it.
Gigabyte had plenty of Xtreme Gaming series graphics cards and these were either paired up with a triple fan Windforce 3X or even an AIO liquid cooling solution, so it is anyone's guess which cooler will Gigabyte decide to use with GTX 1080/1070 graphics cards.
Nvidia is selling its reference GTX 1080/1070 graphics cards with a US $100 premium which is quite a turn of events compared to previous launches but this also means that we could end up with cheaper custom graphics cards. According to Nvidia, reference GTX 1080 version, now known as the Founders Edition, will retail at US $699 while the cheapest custom versions could start at US $599.
We doubt that Gigabyte's custom GTX 1080 graphics card will be cheaper but at least it might have a decent factory-overclock and eventually provide better cooling performance, at least if it ends up paired with Windforce 3X triple-fan cooler or AIO liquid cooling solution.
Unfortunately, we will have to wait for June as that is when Gigabyte says its new Xtreme will be announced.
