Intels new Broadwell-E CPUs are now available for pre-order in retail/e-tail ahead of the official release.
Although the prices are a bit on the high side, those looking to be first to have the new Intel Broadwell-E CPU should be happy to know that the entire lineup, including the flagship 10-core Intel Core i7-6950X have been listed in the US.
Officially scheduled to launch sometime in Q2, which means sometime before end of June, the new Broadwell-E should bring significant upgrade from the currently available Haswell-E HEDT lineup, including the first consumer-based 10-core CPU.
Intel Broadwell-E CPUs will be compatible with LGA 2011 V3 socket and currently available X99 Express chipset motherboards and most motherboard manufacturers have already announced BIOS updates for Broadwell-E CPUs.
While the prices in pre-order are a bit on the high-side, they also confirm the previous rumor that Intel's new flagship HEDT CPU might have a higher price tag than the usual US $999.
Spotted by Tweaktown.com, the Broadwell-E lineup has been listed at NCIX.com, a US-based retailer/e-tailer, with the flagship Core i7-6950X priced at US $2349.99. The Core i7-6900K is listed at US $1495.99, while the Core i7-6850K and the Core i7-6800K sell for US $889.99 and US $629.99, respectively.
We suspect that the pricing will be somewhat lower when these officially become available as retailers/e-tailer are certainly chasing a premium for those that pre-order.
