Samsung starts shipping 4TB 850 EVO SSD

Thanks to 3rd-gen TLC 3D V-NAND

Samsung's 4TB model of the popular 850 EVO SSD has finally been listed in Europe and it starts at around €1400.

Samsung has previously announced that its 850 SSD series, both EVO and Pro will be getting a 4TB update sometime in 2016 and it appears that 850 EVO is first on the list. This is possible due to a switch from 2nd-gen to 3rd-gen 3D V-NAND 48-layer chips, which allows Samsung to come up with higher capacity SSDs.

In addition to the 850 EVO, Samsung also plans to update its M.2 850 EVO lineup with 1TB capacity model, also based on the same 3rd-gen TLC 3D V-NAND chips.

Currently, the Samsung 850 EVO 4TB SSD is listed in Europe with a price set at €1399, depending on the region. The suggested retail/e-tail price should be set at €1349, according to Guru3D.com.

Unfortunately, neither the M.2 850 EVO or the 850 Pro still have not showed up in retail/e-tail.
