Gigabyte unveils new X99P-SLI motherboard

First with full Thunderbolt 3 certification

Gigabyte has unveiled its newest ATX motherboard based on Intel's X99 Express chipset and full Thunderbolt 3 certification with 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 port, the Gigabyte X99P-SLI.

Based on Intel's X99 Express chipset, the new Gigabyte X99P-SLI motherboard comes with support for socket LGA2011-3 CPUs, including the upcoming Broadwell-E CPUs.

The new X99P-SLI motherboard is based on a standard ATX form-factor and features four PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots, working at x16,x16 or x8/x8/x8/x8 modes, eight DDR4 DIMM slots with support for up to 128GB of quad-channel DDR4-memory, ten SATA 6Gbps, single SATA-Express 10Gbps port and one 20Gbps M.2 PCIe NVMe port.

The biggest feature of the new Gigabyte X99P-SLI motherboard is the 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 port which support DisplayPort pass-through.

It also comes with two 10Gbps USB 3.1 Type-A ports, Gigabyte's own 10-channel AMP-Up! high-end on-board audio, Intel Gigabit Ethernet and pretty much any other feature that you would expect to see on a mainstream motherboard based on high-end Intel chipset.

Unfortunately, Gigabyte did not reveal any details regarding the price or the availability date but we will surely see it in retail soon.
