After a successful closed beta multiplayer back in March, Bethesda has now announced that an open beta multiplayer phase will run from April 15th to April 17th, with pre-load starting on April 12th. Bethesda also unveiled details for the first set of DLCs for DOOM, each costing US $14.99.
Just as the closed beta, the open beta multiplayer phase for Doom will include Team Deathmatch and Warpath modes as well as the Heatwave and Infernal maps. According to Bethesda, these two modes and maps are just a fraction of what will be coming on May 13th, when Doom is scheduled to launch on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and, of course, the PC.
Bethesda was also keen to note that Doom will include free updates after the launch with extra content for multiplayer and the SnapMap, a component that will allow users to create, play and share their own maps.
In addition to the open beta multiplayer phase, Bethesda also revealed a few more details regarding its three DLCs planned, each including three new maps, one new weapon, armor set, piece of equipment, playable demon character and new hack modules, taunts, customization colors and patterns.
According to first details, it appears that Bethesda will split gamers to those on standard and premium, DLC, maps. Each DLC will cost US $14.99 and be a part of the US $39.99 priced season pass. The first DLC is expected to launch sometime in summer while the game is coming on May 13th.
