Gets Skylake CPU, Chroma keyboard and becomes cheaper
Razer has updated its 14-inch Razer Blade notebook giving it a much better hardware, including Skylake CPU, better storage, more graphics memory, USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 port and a lower price.
Starting at US $1,999, the key hardware on the new Razer Blade 2016 Edition notebook includes a quad-core 2.6GHz clocked Core i7-6700HQ 14nm Skylake CPU, 16GB DDR4-2133 memory as standard, 3200x1800 IGZO touch screen, Nvidia Geforce GTX 970M with 6GB VRAM, a choice between 256GB and 512GB of PCIe M.2 SSD storage.
The new Razer Blade pretty much looks the same, with the same CNC-milled aircraft grade aluminum chassis, but it is slightly lighter at 1.93kg, compared to the 2.03kg for the 2015 model. Razer also updated the keyboard so you get the same Chroma keyboard seen on the Razer Blade Stealth notebook. It has 16.8 million color RGB backlight, anti-ghosting and more.
The rest of the updated features include Killer Wireless-AC 1535 chip and USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 port, which has been included in order for it to support Razer's Core, an external graphics box.
According to Razer, the new Blade 2016 Edition notebook should be available for pre-order as of today with first ones shipping in April. Currently, there are only two options on the Razer's site, including the 256GB PCIe model for US $1,999 and the 512GB PCIe model for US $2,199.
