Hydra, a company that could become an important name in the high-end PC case market, has notified us tha it has moved three new projects into prototype phase, the SlimDesk, the NR-01 and the “codename Crystal” project. These three will join the two already finished prototypes, the Hydra Desk case and the DefconOne mATX case.

According to Hydra, the company has spent the last year developing a number of concepts and have managed to make two finalized prototypes, the Hydra Desk case and the DefconOne mATX case. The DefconOne mATX case was on a prototype campaign on Indiegogo where it got 196 percent of needed funding.

The company is working on three new prototypes, the SlimDesk, the NR-01 and the “codename Crystal” project, all three promising some high-end features with a unique design.

According to the info, the company is now gearing up to launch a manufacturing campaign on one of the popular crowd-funding sites with the Hydra Desk and Defcon One as main rewards and other prototypes like the “codename Crystal” and the NR-01 Open case as stretch goals.

We will certainly keep an eye on Hydra as these cases are quite interesting and actually manage to bring some unique design as well as new features to a rather weary market.
