Samsung extend its lead in NAND flash market

Holds 33.6 percent of market share

According to the latest report, Samsung managed to increase its lead in NAND flash market raising it to 33.6 percent in the fourth quarter last year.

According to the report from BusinessKorea, Samsung held around 31.5 percent of the market in the third quarter, followed by Toshiba with 20.5 percent. With the latest data taken from DRAMeXchange, the situation is a bit changed as Samsung sales grew by 4.2 percent while Toshiba saw a significant drop of 11.3 percent, leaving Samsung at the top with 33.6 percent of the market share.

Toshiba still holds the second place with 18.6 percent, followed closely by Sandisk and Micro, with 15.8 and 13.9 percent, respectively. SK Hynix currently holds 10.1 percent of the NAND flash market while Intel holds 8 percent.

According to the DRAMeXchange, although the NAND flash market actually suffered a drop of 2.3 percent due to a slowdown in mobile demand industry Samsung was one of the few manufacturers that has seen a revenue growth in NAND flash market during the fourth quarter 2015.
