Gigabyte unveils its new P57 gaming notebook

Clean design, Intel Skylake and GTX 970M

Gigabyte has released its newest P57 gaming notebook series which will feature a clean design and offer decent hardware in a 17.3-inch notebook chassis.

Although the P57 series is aimed at gamers, its sticks to plain black color with just a dash of orange color, something that we certainly appreciate now that most gaming notebooks are simply too flashy.

When it comes to hardware, the 17.3-inch P57 series from Gigabyte packs some serious punch with Intel's Core i7-6700HQ Skylake-H quad-core CPU with support for Hyper Threading, 6MB of L3 cache and working at 2.6GHz base and 3.5GHz Maximum Turbo frequency. The CPU can be paired up with up to 16GB of RAM.

The graphics side of things are taken care by Nvidia's GTX 965M 2GB on the base P57K model and GTX 970M 3GB on the higher-end P57W model. Those two graphics cards should be enough for the 1080p IPS LCD screen although we are not sure if it supports Nvidia G-Sync.

The rest of the specifications include up to 512GB of PCIe NVMe SSD storage and two optional 2.5-inch HDDs, optional Blu-ray optical drive, backlit 30-key rollover keyboard, three USB 3.0, USB 3.1 Type-C port, HDMI 2.0, mini DisplayPort and D-Sub outputs, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 4.1 and 802.11ac WiFi.

Unfortunately, Gigabyte did not announce any precise details regarding the price of the new P57 gaming notebook series but it did say it will start at around US $1400, so you can expect a hefty price if you are looking for the top-end model.
