While Trion 100 SSD has been on the market for quite some time, OCZ has decided that it is time for an update and has unveiled its new Trion 150 SSD during CES 2016 show in Las Vegas.
Based on a Toshiba controller, just as the Trion 100, the Trion 150 will use the next-generation Toshiba 15nm TLC NAND flash, instead of the Toshiba A19 TLC NAND flash seen earlier. While this should help with the price and make the Trion 150 SSD more competitive, it does not have any effect on the performance as both sequential and random 4K performance remained pretty much the same.
In case you are wondering, sequential performance will go from up to 550MB/s for read and up to 530MB/s for write while random 4K read and write performance is set at up to 90,000 and 64,000 IOPS.
Unfortunately, OCZ did not reveal any details regarding the price or the availability date for the new Trion 150 SSD.
