A well known overclocker and a dear friend of Ocaholic.ch, Der8auer, has managed to hit a rather impressive 7007.85MHz on retail Core i7-6700K Skylake CPU on ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Gene motherboard and G.Skill DDR4 memory.
According to the validation page, Der8auer managed to raise the multiplier up to 69x with a base clock frequency of 101.56MHz. The overclocking was done on a single core with uncore frequency set at 2438MHz. As noted, the rest of the system include ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Gene LGA1151 motherboard, 8GB (2x4GB) of G.Skill DDR4 memory runin gat 1574.2MHz with 12-19-19-28 latency and a lot of LN2, of course.
This result allowed Der8auer to pull ahead of Chi-Kui Lam in the LGA1151 CPU result with 8.97MHy lead.
Hopefully, we will see even higher results as it is obvious that Der8auer got a great retail Core i7-6700K CPU on its hands.
