Xbox Wireless Adapter now supports Windows 7/8.1

Microsoft releases an update

Although previously only working on Windows 10 OS, Microsoft has now released an update that allows the new Xbox Wireless Adapter to work on both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 OS.

Microsoft has released its new Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows back in October, which allowed PC users to pair up to eight Xbox One Wireless controllers and up to four chat headsets or two stereo headsets. A few days later, it was noticed that the Xbox Wireless Adapter does not work on either the Steam OS or earlier versions of the Windows OS, being limited only to Windows 10 OS.

Although Windows 10 OS was a free upgrade, plenty of gamers are still sticking to Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 OS, but thankfully, Microsoft has now released an update which allows the Xbox Wireless Adapter to work on both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 OS.

In case you missed it earlier, the adapter is priced at US $24.99 as a standalone unit or can be bought together with an Xbox One Wireless Controller for US $79.95.
