Steam hits a new concurrent user record

With over 13.4 million users at once

Valve has announced that Steam has reached the new concurrent user record, with over 13.4 million gamers online at once.

Valve was probably quite happy when Steam hit 12.5 million concurrent users but just a day after it has reached a new record of 13.48 million concurrent users, playing mostly DotA 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Team Fortress 2 and Grand Theft Auto V.

Currently, Valve can brag with over 125 million active Steam accounts, which means that over 10 percent of users were online at the same time.

This is a big jump for Valve as the previous concurrent record, recorded in June this year, was set at around 10 million.
