According to a fresh report coming from South Korea, Samsung could launch the new Galaxy S7 flagship as early as January, mostly due to increased competition in the high-end smartphone market, especially from Apple's iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
The newest rumor,
coming from a Korean website ETNews.com, suggest that Samsung could launch a premium and sub-premium version of the Galaxy S7 and that the design of both versions has been finalized in September.
The premium version could be based on a new Exynos chipset that will integrate modem, all important sensors and the processor on a single die, while sub-premium version could feature a different SoC. Earlier rumors revealed the new Exynos M1 SoC, which showed up in benchmarks and was way ahead both the Exynos 7420 and Apple's A9 SoC.
The new Galaxy S7 is also expected to feature 3D Touch-like technology as well as USB Type-C port.
According to the Korean source, the announcement could be scheduled for January 19th.
