With exclusive TUF features
ASUS has announced its latest TUF series motherboard, the ASUS TUF Sabertooth Z170 Mark 1, which will be based on Intel's Z170 Express chipset and come with plenty of exclusive TUF features.
Based on a standard ATX form-factor and Intel's Z170 Express chipset designed for 6th-generation Intel Core Skylake CPUs, the new ASUS TUF Sabertooth Z170 Mark 1 motherboard features some rather unique and exclusive TUF features, including TUF Thermal Armor, TUF Fortifier, TUF ICe, TUF Thermal Radar 2 and TUF Detective 2.
The motherboard also has a 24/7 durability with military-grade TUF components, upgraded TUF ESD Guards 2 against electrostatic discharge and even packs a five-year warranty.
Featuring a completely black color scheme with just a traces of grey, the Thermal Armor protects all the key components of the motherboard and with dual fans, ensures that the motherboard is well cooled and even reduces temperature to the VRM part by up to 20°C. It also cools the M.2 slot and strengthens the PCI Express (PCIe) slots. The TUF Fortifier provides rigidity to the motherboard with reinforced backplate, ensuring that it doesn't buckle even with heavy graphics cards and CPU coolers. The TUF Dust Defenders protect rear I/O ports, expansion and memory slots by preventing dust to come into those.
When it comes to cooling side of the things, the ASUS TUF Sabertooth Z170 Mark 1 motherboard features TUF ICe, Thermal Radar 2 and TUF Detective 2, all three thermal-management technologies that will allow users to monitor on-board temperatures of all 12 fan connectors and even allow users to control it on the smartphone, thanks to TUF Dectective 2 app.
The TUF Components list includes Japanese-made 10K black metallic capacitors offer 20%-better temperature and TUF alloy chokes.
Specifications wise, the new ASUS TUF Sabertooth Z170 Mark 1 motherboard features four DIMM DDR4 slots with support for up to 64GB of DDR4-2400 memory, three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (working at x16, x16 or x16, x8, x8) and three PCI-Express 3.0 x1 slots, two SATA-Express 10Gbps ports, six SATA 6Gbps ports, Intel I218-V Gigabit Ethernet, Realtek ALC1150 7.1-channel audio, eight USB 2.0 ports, six USB 3.0 ports, single USB 3.1 Type-C and single USB 3.1 Type-A port.
The new ASUS TUF Sabertooth Z170 Mark 1 motherboard should be available soon but ASUS did not announce any precise details regarding the price.
