Xiaomi has managed to set another record in mobile sales as the company sold 800,000 Redmi Note 2 units during the recent flash sale which lasted for 12 hours.
Earlier, the company record was held by Redmi 1 which managed to sell over 60,000 units in just 13.9 seconds.
The Xiaomi is an impressive smartphone with a 5.5-inch Full HD 1920x1080 resolution display powered by Mediatek's Helio X10 SoC with eight Cortex-53 CPU cores, PowerVR G6200 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The rest of the specifications include a 3,020mAh battery, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, dual-SIM support and Android 5.1 Lollipop with Xiaomi's own MIUI 7 skin.
With a price of just US $125 for the 16GB and US $150 for the 32GB model, it does not come as a surprise that Redmi Note 2 sold like hotcakes and the second batch is expected to go on sale on August 24th.
