MSI teases upcoming GTX 980 Ti Lightning

Still no word on cooling

MSI has unveiled the first official teaser for the upcoming MSI Geforce GTX 980 Ti Lightning which is expected to have a new custom design, new cooler and a high factory overclock.

Since all previous Lightning series graphics cards from MSI were possibly the best versions on the market and usually came with a high-end components and custom new cooling, we would not be surprised to see the same thing with the Geforce GTX 980 Ti Lightning as well.

While there is still no word on the actual cooler for the GTX 980 Ti Lightning, newest rumors coming from Expreview.com suggest that the GPU Boost clock will be set at 1342MHz, which only shy away from the currently fastest GTX 980 Ti on the market, Zotac's GTX 980 Ti AMP! working at 1355MHz.

MSI's Lightning series were previously made for overclockers, with high-end VRM and other overclocking-friendly features, so the new GTX 980 Ti should not be any different.

MSI could also use the new silver and red color scheme that has been used on the Z170A XPower Gaming Titanium motherboard in order to pair up its high-end motherboard with the new GTX 980 Ti Lightning graphics card.

The new MSI GTX 980 Ti Lightning should be coming soon and we are sure we will see more teasers and leaks as we draw closer to the launch date.
