With their M6V Plextor has a new value SSD in its portfolio. These drives feature a SATA-III 6Gbps interface, 16nm Toggle NAND flash memory from Toshiba and 7mm, 2.5 inch caseing. Apart from that there are also M.2 as well as mSATA drives available.
Plextor has decided to equip it's entry level SSDs with a SMI-2246 controller from Silicon Motion. Apart from that there are three different variants being introduced: 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB. The read write speeds of all drives are 535/170MB/s, 535/335MB/s and 535/455MB/s, respectively. Apart from that the vendor is communicating random-access performance of up to 83'000 IOPS reads and 80'000 IOPS writes.
The drives are meanwhile available and listed in online shops all over the world. The 128 Gigabyte model sells for 69 Euro, the 256 GB derivate is priced at 115 Euro and the 512 Gigabyte model costs 245 Euro, whereas all prices include VAT.
