Intel has announced some rather interesting major leadership changes as well as key promotions and other company changes, including the stepping down of the president Renée James.

President Renée James has stepped down in order to pursue an external role at yet to be named company, which will be a big hit for Intel. While she agreed to stay with the company until January, the replacement has not been announced.

In addition to Renée James, president of Intel Capital, Arvind Sodhani, will also leave in January for his retirement after 35-year career with the company and President of Mergers and Acquisitions, Wendell Brooks, will take an expanded role by also becoming President of Intel Capital.

Intel also announced that it has integrated the Intel Security organization into Intel operations as of July 1st under the leadership of General Manager Chris Young.

There are couple of changes in Intel executive structure as Intel Communication and Devices Group General Manager Aicha Evans have been promoted to the Management Committee, while Josh Walden, General Manager of Intel's New Technology Group, will lead all product and research teams for interactive computing devices, perceptual computing and wearable devices.

What is left on the sidelines of the announcement, and probably a bit more interesting is that Intel will be loosing two other people, a key mobile exec, Prof. Dr. Herman Eul, Corporate Vice President General Manager, Mobile and Communications Group and Mike Bell, who was Corporate Vice President and General Manager of New Devices Group.

These are quite significant changes inside Intel and it appears that Intel is pushing hard for Internet of Things market and pushing the company into other markets as well.
