Samsung announces new 4TB external HDD

Thinnest and lightest 4TB external HDDs

Samsung HDD, has announced its newest 4TB M3 Portable and P3 Portable external hard drivers, which are also first 4TB USB-powered single drive solutions packed in a standard 2.5-inch form-factor.

According to Samsung, with such capacity previous only attainable in desktop and bulky multi-drive internal designs, the latest Samsung HDD technology allows them to use single drive solution, powered just through a USB connection, to be placed in a case that is only a 1/10 of an inch thicker than previously available 2TB external HDD.

The heart of both the 4TB Samsung M3 and the 4TB Samsung P3 Portable HDds is the Spinpoint M10P 4TB HDD.

The Samsung 4TB M3 Portable external HDD has 82x118.2x19.85 dimensions with 236g weight while the sleek 4TB P3 Portable has the same dimensions and weight but packs a different casing. The only difference between them is that M3 Portable has a bit more durable rugged design, while the rest of the specifications are pretty much the same.

Unfortunately, Samsung did not reveal any details regarding the price but it did note that these should be available later this month.
