Microsoft launches new Xbox One, wireless controller
As well as wireless PC adapter for controller
Microsoft has launched a new model of its Xbox One console as well as an updated version of its wireless controller and the wireless PC adapter for it.
The new Xbox One console will have a larger 1TB HDD as well as feature a new matte black finish, which is welcomed update from the glossy original Xbox One. While it is still a small upgrade in terms of storage space, with recent games getting larger and larger it is definitely a good update as well, despite the fact that Xbox One has an ability to use USB storage.
In addition to the new Xbox One console model, Microsoft also introduced an updated version of its wireless controller. The new version now has a standard 3.5mm headset jack, instead of the proprietary one earlier, has new bumpers and firmware can now be updated wirelessly. There is also a new version of the Xbox controller which has a silver and black color scheme.
The last piece of news from Microsoft will appeal to PC users as Microsoft has finally released a wireless adapter for the controller which will allow PC users to use the existing Xbox One controller on the PC without any cables. The adapter sells for US $25 or comes bundled with the PC version of the controller for US $80.
The new 1TB matte black model of the Xbox One console will be bundled with Halo Master Chief Collection game and be available as of June 16th with a price set at US $399. The earlier available 500GB model has been cut down to US $349.
