Oculus Rift virtual reality headset has been filling our news since it showed up on Kickstarter back in 2012 and while those developer editions were impressive, consumer version is what we all have been waiting and it appears it could launch early next year.
According to Oculus, the wait might be over as the consumer version of the Rift VR headset could start shipping in the first quarter of 2016. Oculus also unveiled some new pictures of the final hardware and has apparently refined the design so the consumer version will also have better ergonomics.
In addition to the design, the consumer version of the Rift will also have an improved tracking system that will handle both seated and standing users.
According to Oculus, pre-orders for the consumer version of the Rift should begin later this year and more details regarding the hardware, software as well as games that support the Rift, will be known in the coming weeks.
