ASUS has announced its latest addition to the ZenBook notebook lineup, the 15.6-inch ZenBook Pro UX501, which will be a flagship notebook in ASUS' Zenbook lineup.
Based around a 15.6-inch screen with either a 1920x1080 IPS LCD or 3840x2160 multi-touch IPS 100%sRGB panel, depending on your choice, the new ASUS ZenBook Pro UX501 features an aluminum chassis which certainly adds a premium touch to the new UX501. The precise dimensions of the UX501 are set at 38.4 x 25.4 x 2.03cm and it weighs 2.27kg.
The rest of the main specifications include Intel's Core i7-4720HQ Haswell mobile quad-core CPU clocked at 2.6GHz base and 3.6GHZ Turbo clocks, 16GB of DDR3 memory, Nvidia GTX 960M GPU, various storage options including a 1TB 5400RPM HDD, 128/256GB SSD or 512GB PCIe x4 SSD.
It also comes with 2x2 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, three USB 3.0 ports, Thunderbolt 2.0/mini DisplayPort, HDMI, SDXC card reader, 720p front camera and a 60 or 96Wh battery. It will run on 64-bit Windows 8.1 OS.
It is quite obvious that ASUS aims for high-end market with the new ZenBook Pro UX501 and according to ASUS, the fully packed model with UHD display and 512GB PCIe x4 SSD will cost US $1799.
