Kingston has announced that its newest HyperX Predator PCI-Express is now shipping. Available in 240 and 480GB capacities, the HyperX Predator is essentially an M.2 based SSD that can be paired up with optional half-height, half-length (HHHL) PCIe adapter card.
Based on Marvel's 88SS9293 controller and offering impressive sequential read and write transfer speeds of up to 1400MB/s and 1000MB/s, the new Kingston HyperX Predator SSD is definitely an impressive piece of storage. The random 4K performance is set at 130,000 IOPS and 118,000 IOPS for read and write and it has an endurance rating of 1.7 Drive Writes Per Day (DWPD).
The new HyperX Predator PCIe SSD will be available as a stand-alone M.2 SSD and bundled with the aforementioned PCIe 2. x4 adapter card.
While it might offer some rather impressive performance, which you can check out in detail for each model in the table below, such performance comes at a rather steep price so the 480GB model is currently listed in Europe for €475,77 as M.2 standalone drive and €489,02 when bundled with PCIe adapter. The 240GB model is a bit cheaper with lowest price set at €244,06 as stand-alone M.2 drive and €255,50 with PCIe adapter.
