What is definitely a most popular crowd funded game around, the space simulation game known as the Star Citizen, has reached US $75 million mark with over 800,000 people funding it.

While it was generally expected that the rate of funding for Star Citizen will eventually slow down, it appears that recent updates from the developer has fueled additional interest for the game and the founder, Chris Roberts is now aiming for US $100 million mark, promising even greater things for the game.

While the game still does not have a precise launch date, other than it will be coming sometime next year, recent updates show some rather impressive gameplay, impressive size of the game itself, an impressive level of detail and much more.
