ASUS has decided to introduce yet another version of the Geforce GTX 960 graphics card, the GTX 960 STRIX OC with 4GB of memory.
Based on the same design as the 2GB version, the new ASUS GTX 960 STRIX OC graphics card, known as the STRIX-GTX960-DC2OC-4GD5, will feature factory-overclocked settings of 1291MHz for the GPU base and 1317MHz for the GPU Boost while 4GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 128-bit memory interface remained at 7010MHz.
In case you missed it, Nvidia's Geforce GTX 960 graphics cards are based on 28nm GM206 Maxwell GPU and pack 1024 CUDA cores and 32 ROPs.
The new ASUS GTX 960 STRIX OC 4GB graphics card comes with ASUS' well known and quite good DirectCU II STRIX cooler which features a hefty aluminum heatsink with four heatpipes which is cooled by two fans. It also features a backplate. According to ASUS, this one should be around three times quieter compared to the reference cooler and also features 0dB fan technology that does not spin up fans until certain temperature is reached.
As expected, the ASUS GTX 960 STRIX OC 4GB also comes with Super Alloy Power which includes Super Alloy Choke, Dedicated SAP CAP, Super Alloy Capacitors, and Super Alloy MOS, all in order to give it cooler operation, performance boost and longer lifespan.
As it was the case with the 2GB version, this one also draws power from a single 6-pin PCI-Express power connector and comes with three DisplayPort 1.2, one HDMI 2.0 and one DVI display output.
Unfortunately, ASUS did not reveal any details regarding price or the availability date.
