It appears that Nvidia Shield console was not the only thing the company brought to GDC 2015 as Nvidia CEO has unveiled the new Geforce Titan X during Epic Games keynote.
While no precise specification were announced, Nvidia CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang did say that the Titan X is based on 8 billion transistors and feature a 12GB frame buffer. What do we know from before is that Titan X should be based on Nvidia's GM200 Maxwell GPU. Huang also described it as "the most advanced GPU the world has even seen."
According to Nvidia, the same Titan X graphics card was also powering the virtual reality experience called "Thief in the Shadows". Created by the Weta Digital, this VR demo runs on Oculus's Crescent Bay prototype and uses Titan X to get smooth 90 FPS experience.
Nvidia's CEO did not only show the new Titan X but also signed the first box and gave it to Tim Sweeney from Epic Games as well as promised that more details regarding it will be unveiled during Nvidia's upcoming GPU Technology Conference 2015 which will start on March 17th.
