The latest rumor suggest that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S6 smartphone could end up with a 2,600mAh battery, which is smaller than what was earlier expected.
It does not come as a surprise that we are hearing more and more rumors regarding Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S6 flagship smartphone as we draw closer to its big unveil scheduled for March 1st and the latest one,
coming from South Korea, suggest that the Galaxy S6 could end up with a 2,600mAh battery, which is 200mAh smaller than the one found in the Galaxy S5.
If the rumor is true, it is obvious that Samsung is putting a lot of faith in its new 14nm Exynos 7 Octa SoC that will be powering the Galaxy S6. While it might be more power efficient, it was generally expected that it would have a larger battery as we might see a similar battery life as on the Galaxy S5.
Recent rumors also suggested a metal construction of the Galaxy S6 as well as a thin design which should compete with Apple's new iPhones, which also might be a reason why Samsung decided to use a smaller battery.
For now, this is just a rumor and we will wait for the official announcement on March 1st. In case you missed other rumors and reports, the upcoming Galaxy S6 should be based on a 5.1-inch QHD Super AMOLED screen, Exynos 7 Octa SoC with 3GB of RAM and 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS.
