Swatch plans to make a smartwatch

Wants to compete with Apple Watch

According to a new report, the Swiss watchmaker Swatch, is planning a smartwatch that should be ready within next three months and compete with Apple's upcoming Watch.

According to a comment made by Swatch CEO, Nick Hayek, to Bloomberg, the company will make a smartwatch that will be connected to Internet, make mobile payments, work with both Windows and Android software and, most importantly, will not need to be charged.

Although Swatch decision comes as a surprise, especially considering that Swatch CEO had its doubts regarding the smartwatch market, it is believed that Swatch could make a rather impressive impact on that market and give some competition to Samsung, Sony, Motorola, Qualcomm, ASUS, Pebble and, soon, Apple.

In case you missed it, Apple's Watch is scheduled to launch in April, according to recent announcement made by Apple's CEO, Tim Cook.

Hopefully, Swatch will manage to get its smartwatch to market in next three months and we are surely eager to see what kind of design will be looking at from a well known watchmaker.
