Nvidia GTX Titan X to get a silent fan

NVIDIA could do it

NVIDIA does not like its Titan range to be modified by partners, and this is exactly why it could bring a new cooler for its high-end graphics cards which could take advantage of the low TDP with Maxwell architecture.

With the first Maxwell based graphics cards, we have seen graphics card coolers which are able to be completely silent below certain temperature. This was the case with the GTX 750 Ti STRIX from ASUS.

NVIDIA partners are not allowed to make custom versions of the GTX Titan, and that is why the company could bring a new reference cooler with the rumored GTX Titan X which is capable to completely turn off its fan in idle or at low load. This is a similar process seen with some custom graphics cards from Nvidia partners and will allow software to control the fan. Each partner could then adapt to it without having to change the PCB or the cooler.

This would seem logical on a graphics card with large computing capabilities which is not necessarily working at full load. NVIDIA will talk about its new products on January 22 and we we hope that we will hear more on this subject.
