Integration IBM X86 in Lenovo Switzerland

Effective by 1st January 2015

Nine years ago Lenovo aquired IBMs PC business and in the past years the Chinese manufacturer proved on numerous occasions that they're capable of successfully integrating new businesses. As in the PC space it's Lenovo's target to become the worlds largest vendor in the server market.

It's public knowledge that Lenovo is the largest PC manufacturer on a global scale. By aquiring IBM's x86 business Lenovo instantly becomes a top-player in the server market. In order to manage a seamless integration of IMB's x86 business, Lenovo prepared all processes in order to meet a single point of contact approach for its Swiss customers. Therefore it's crucial for Lenovo to treat Swiss customers in an as efficient and personal way as possible.

By acquiring the x86 business from IBM, Lenovo is integrating for example all PureFlex Systems. Apart from that all service contracts for System-x products are transferred to Lenovo as well.

Quote:
"We're happy to welcome IBM's x86 team to Lenovo Switzerland after having completed all formalities", says Patrick Roettger Manging Director of Lenovo Switzerland. He's adding that, "thanks to the additional innovative force and because of the fact, that we're taking over highly motivated employees, we can offer a seamless transition to our customers. As for the PC business we're having big plans for the Swiss server market as well."
