Our own reviewer and well known overclocker, HIWA, managed to get a rather impressive overclocking result with G.Skill DDR4-3000 CL15 memory on ASUS X99 Express chipset based Rampage V Extreme motherboard.
HIWA managed to overclock the G.Skill DDR4-3000 memory with Samsung ICs up to a frequency of 1914MHz (DDR4-3828) at CL17-25-29-50 latencies and 1.9V voltage. The result was achieved on a well known ASUS Rampage V Extreme Intel X99 Express chipset based motherboard paired up with Intel Core i7-5960X Haswell-E CPU and both the CPU and memory were cooled by quite a hefty amount of LN2. The entire system was powered by Seasonic 1050W Platinum PSU.
While this is not the world record, it still is a well deserved third place, which definitely
is not a bad result for the first overclocking attempt with this memory. You can check out the memory in the gallery via link below.
