Corsair has already announced its new Neutron XT SSD lineup, based on Phison controller paired up with Toshiba 19nm MLC NAND, earlier last month, but so far we have not seen any official details regarding the prices. Luckily, Corsair has now announced MSRP details and the new Neutron XT SSD lineup should be ready for retail/e-tail shelves as of January.
While Corsair's Neutron XT SSD lineup
has already been announced and even
reviewed by some tech sites, most of those reviews did not give out their final score due to the lack of actual price of the Neutron XT SSD. Now that Corsair has officially announced the price of each of the model, it is quite clear that these will be a direct competition to Samsung's 850 Pro SSD lineup.
Based on a standard 7mm thick, 2.5-inch form factor and SATA 6Gbps interface, the Corsair Neutron XT lineup uses the new Phison PS3110 quad-core controller paired up with new 19nm Toshiba A19 MLC NAND. The new controller brings couple of new features including SmartFlush as well as native 256-bit AES encryption.
As noted back when it was officially announced, the Corsair Neutron XT line of SSDs will be available in 240, 480 and 960GB capacities and offer sequential read and write performance of up to 562/547MB/s depending on the model, while the 4K random performance is set at up to 100k/90k IOPS.
The official price is set at US $149.99 for the 240GB model, US $269.99 for the 480GB one and US $539.99 for the 960GB model. As noted, the Corsair Neutron XT SSD lineup is expected on retail/e-tail shelves in January.
