Since the launch of the Raspberry Pi and following its evolution and popularity, several other manufacturers have tried a similar approach and today we have a new miniPC from Hardkernel, which will sell for a rather affordable US $35.

The Raspberry Pi success is rather impressive and it has a really large community, but if you are not handy, and you just want to have a miniPC which allows you to watch videos, the performance of the Raspberry Pi can be rather limiting. This is exactly why Hardkernel has launched the new ODROID-C1.

This little card is powered by Amlogic S805 SoC, a Cortex A5 quad-core chip running at 1,5 GHz and backed up by a Mali 450MP2 graphics chip. It also comes with 2 GB of DDR3 memory, a microSD cardreader, a slot for an eMMC module, Gigabit Ethernet port, micro-HDMI output, four USB ports and a USB OTG port.

This small device has twice as much RAM compared to the Raspberry Pi, a better Ethernet, one USB port more and a quad-core processor. In addition, it is designed to run Android KitKat or Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.
