Ubisoft has finally pulled its fingers out of it ears and has openly admitted that Assassin's Creed Unity game had a troubled launch and still has plenty of problems. In order to somehow make up for a bad launch and apologize to Assassin's Creed fans, Ubisoft will now offer the upcoming DLC for free and also offer a free game for those that have bought the DLC pass or the Gold Edition of the game.
According to
a blog post written by Ubisoft's Yannis Mallat: "Unfortunately, at launch, the overall quality of the game was diminished by bugs and unexpected technical issues. I want to sincerely apologise on behalf of Ubisoft and the entire Assassin's Creed team. These problems took away from your enjoyment of the game, and kept many of you from experiencing the game at its fullest potential."
In order to somehow apologize to all the fans, Ubisoft has announced that the upcoming Dead Kings DLC will be free to all users and not just those that bought the DLC pass or the Gold Edition of the game. On the other hand, those that have bought the DLC pass or the Gold Edition of the game will also get to pick a free game from the list which includes Far Cry 4, The Crew, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Rayman Legends and Just Dance 2015 games.
Mallat also noted that the Ubisoft team is working hard on fixing the issues and will release a steady flow of patches and the third patch, which is already available, features more that 300 fixes that should improve performance, matchmaking, connectivity and other issues.
