Microsoft has announced that it has managed to sell close to 10 million Xbox One consoles and that the sales have more than tripled in the US over the last week. Microsoft is also confident that the number will get even higher as we draw closer to the holiday season.
In order to be precise, the 10 million units is the number that Microsoft has sold to retailers and does not reflect the number of sold consoles to consumers but since we are currently on the doorstep of the upcoming holiday season we are quite sure that most retailers will easily get rid of the stock.
According to Microsoft, the boost in Xbox One sales is mostly attributed to new games including buggy and performance-crippled Assassin's Creed: Unity, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare which got some decent scores, Sunset Overdrive, as well as the Halo: Master Chief Collection.
This is still far away from Sony's 13.5 million sold consoles published during its latest financial report, but we are sure that Sony will soon update its number to reflect the holiday season sales.
