EK Water Blocks, a well known liquid cooling experts from Slovenia, have announced its latest EK-FB KIT GA X99, a motherboard liquid cooling kit aimed to be used with Gigabyte's X99 series motherboards.
The new EK-FB KIT GA X99 consists of two separate water blocks that directly cool both the Intel's X99 southbridge (PCH) as well as the power regulation module (VRM/MOSFETs). While it only cools exactly as much heat as the Gigabyte factory cooling solution, it also features a high flow water block design that can be used with weaker liquid cooling pumps and thus allow you to have a full liquid cooling system.
The base of both water cooling blocks in the EK-FB KIT GA X99 is made of nickel-plated electrolytic copper while the top is made of either POM Acetal or acrylic galls material, depending on the version of the kit. It also comes with pre-installed screw-in standoffs which will allow easy installation with the original motherboard backplates.
As far as the compatibility is concerned, EKWB suggests
its online Cooling Configurator for a detailed compatibility list but according to what we can see, it should be compatible with most, if not all, Gigabyte X99-based motherboards, including GA-X99-Gaming G1 and the high-end X99-SOC Force motherboards.
As noted, the EK-FB KIT GA X99 is available in two visually different versions, Nickel, and Acetal+Nickel, and both will be priced at €114,95.
