Roy Schestowitz wanted to buy a PC from the English distributor Currys/PC World and eventually changed his mind when he learned that installing a GNU/Linux OS would cost him his PC and hardware related warranty.
When his old good PC died, Roy did not have no choice but to go into a local big store, since these giants of the sale have pretty much closed any smaller retailers.
After a long discussion with vendors, he did not buy anything because as, according to source, the installation of a GNU/Linux OS will void the warranty of any equipment sold under another operating system.
While today the forced sale of software is quite debatable and some countries, such as the Italy recently, have ended it, it is sad to see that a large English store has bent under the pressure so an end user does not have a choice.
