Apple rolls out OS X Yosemite to Macs

iOS 8.1 update comes on October 20th

During its live media event in Cupertino last night and in addition to a couple of new iPads, new 5K Retina iMac and new Mac mini, Apple has also and finally announced the availability of the new OS X Yosemite, a major update to OS X which was announced and detailed back in June during WWDC. In addition to rolling out the OS X Yosemite, Apple has also announced that it will bring the new iOS 8.1 update on October 20th.

Being free for all users, the OS X Yosemite is considered to be the biggest and most significant update for OS X in quite a while. Based on a new design that is much closer to iOS, the OS X Yosemite also connects your favorite iOS device with OS X Mac a bit more closely, by allowing you to answer calls, send texts, exchange emails and more.

The new OS X Yosemite will also bring update for Spotlight, Safari, Messages, Mail, Calendar, Notification Center and much more.

In addition to the OS X Yosemite update, Apple has also announced that it will be rolling out the iOS 8.1 update to iOS devices next Monday, October 20th. While it will not bring any big updates to iOS devices, the iOS 8.1 will mostly focus on Apple Pay compatibility but also bring back Camera Roll, allow access to iCloud Photo Library and allow iOS devices an access to Continuity compatibility, which will allow the device to work with OS X Yosemite updated Macs.
