SilverStone has released a new model in its now popular Fortress series, the FT05.
With the new Fortress 05, SilverStone takes a format they already used on the Fortress 02 where the motherboard (ATX or MicroATX) is tilted at 90° angle. This position should give a better air flow and a simplified connectivity management.
The new Fortress FT05 measures 483x427x221mm and its steel structure with aluminum parts adds up to weight of 9,5kg. Inside, you can mount a 162mm tall CPU cooler and a 312mm long graphics card.
As far as the the drives are concerned, there is a single ODD slot-in slot and two 3.5-inch locations along with two 2.5-inch ones. For cooling, Silverstone has included two Air Penetrator 180mm fans (600/900/1200RPM, 17/25/34dBA) in the bottom part, which can be replaced with three 120mm or two 140mm while the top part of the case can accommodate a single 120mm fan.
The connectors and the Power and Reset buttons are at the top part of the front panel and include two USB 3.0, in addition to the standard audio jacks, and two fan speed regulators.
To be available in black or silver color options, the new Silverstone Fortress FT05 will hit retail/e-tail shelves on October 20th with an MSRP of €148.90.
