Cortana might be a part of Windows 10

Windows getting voice assistant feature

While Cortana was the star of Microsoft's Windows Phone, it appears that it might come to Windows 10 as well.

While earlier rumors suggested that Cortana will indeed be a part of the upcoming Windows 10, Microsoft did not talk about Cortana during its Windows 10 announcement yesterday. According to info coming from The Verge, Cortana will indeed be a part of the Windows 10 as they claim to have seen an early version of the feature running on the platform.

According to the same report, Microsoft is currently internally testing Cortana on Windows 10 and will be featured above the new search button that Microsoft introduced with Windows 10. Cortana on Windows 10 should be quite similar to the one on the Windows Phone OS and will be able to search the web, set up reminders and all other things.

Apparently, Cortana will not be a separate application but rather replace the current search feature in Windows 8. While the Windows 10 is scheduled for mid-2015 release, Microsoft might be keeping the big announcement for the BUILD conference scheduled for April.
