Apple has finally issued an official statement regarding recent reports and videos on iPhone 6 Plus bending issues stating that the problem is "extremely rare".
In a statement
issued to Recode.net, Apple noted that they have so far received a total of nine complaints from customers with bent iPhone 6 devices and that they have designed both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus with special anodized aluminum that is tempered for extra strength and subjected to rigorous testing, describing design of both smartphones as "beautiful and sturdy".
According to Apple, they have chose these high-quality materials and construction very carefully for their strength and durability and that they "perform rigorous tests throughout the entire development cycle including 3-point bending, pressure point cycling, sit, torsion, and user studies."
Apple was also keen to note that it is rare that one of their smartphones to bend and represent a tiny fraction of the 10 million next-generation iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus devices it managed to sell. Of course, Apple also noted that it will gladly check any problem and urged its customers to contact Apple in any case of problem.
